Marble statuette of Aphrodite
From Argos.1st c. BC.
(ΕΑΜ/ΝΑΜ Γ 3248)
The figure steps firmly with the right foot on the ellipsoidal plinth, while she leans the left leg, bent forward, on a goose, symbol of Aphrodite Ourania. She wears only a cloak that leaves the breast exposed. The movement of the torso is strongly antithetical.
