Boeotian red-figure calyx krater with lid
From Boeotia. 420-410 BC.
(ΕΑΜ/ΝΑΜ A 1383)
Through the night Eos drives her quadriga over the sea. The goddess of the dawn, preceded by Hermes who shows her the way, alludes to the transition of night to day, as darkness surrenders its place to light.
