Gold necklace
From a grave in Spata, Attica. 725-700 BC
(ΕΑΜ Χρ.1041)
Composed of five plaques, wire and tube-like elements, with chains that terminate in the shape of calyxes. The small plaques are decorated with repoussé lozenges and crescents, the interior of which would have had inset stones or enamel. A luxurious ornament of a rather rare type.
