Attic red-figure hydria
From Euboea. 375-350 BC.
(ΕΑΜ/ΝΑΜ Α 1424)
Eros, among the god Dionysus and two Maenads, is watering flowers (possibly poppies) with his hydria. The beauty of the flowers is associated with the beauty of the winged god, while watering implies fertility.
